Elder Responsibilities

 

1. Pertinent passages of scripture which apply to the Elders responsibilities are, Acts 20:17-35; Hebrews 13:7, 17; I Peter 5:1-5.

2. The Elders shall oversee and administer the affairs of NSBC.

3. Supervise and administer the receiving and disbursement of the NSBC funds, securities, and properties in accordance with the NSBC Constitution.

4. Hire and discharge personnel, determine their salaries and other allowances.

5. Hold title to all property in trust for the use and benefit of the congregation.

6. Acquire or dispose of real property or its fixtures and contract any loans on behalf of NSBC upon specific instruction and authority from the Elder Board at a duly called NSBC business meeting.

7. Take all necessary measures for the protection, management, upkeep and improvement of all property.

8. Determine the use of all NSBC facilities.

9. Interpret and maintain the NSBC Constitution.

10. Each Elder must strive to attend the majority of services and leadership sessions to remain abreast of the teaching and direction of NSBC and remain sensitive to the doctrinal emphasis necessary for the leadership team.
